Back to Stash

Welcome to our very first MoneyPlus Newsletter!

We’re excited to kick things off with our June edition – as you know, recent months have meant a lot of changes have quickly come upon us. Whilst we try to manage our own personal situations as best we can, sometimes we all need a little help, and we’re here for you if you do.

If you find yourself struggling to manage your finances, give us a call on 0161 837 4000, or email us at info@moneyplus.com, and we’ll help you find the best solution to get you back on track.

For now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the read.

Money saving tips.

Saving money is hard. Saving money during a pandemic is even harder.

Wages have been cut, jobs have been lost, recruitment has grinned to a halt, and pay rises have disappeared – so what can you do to free up some extra cash at the end of the month?

Get those refunds.

During lockdown, many businesses have had to shut their doors due to social distancing restrictions. This means that any memberships you have, such as the gym or cinema, have probably gone idle.

If you are still paying for a service you can’t use, chase for a refund! Be polite, patient, but persistent, and if you are unsuccessful, you can submit a complaint to the Competition and Markets Authority.

Claim the benefits you’re entitled to.

If you’re eligible for financial support from the government, you’ll probably need to claim it.

Depending on your situation, you may qualify for benefits such as Statutory Sick Pay or Employment & Support Allowance, or Council Tax support. If you’re already receiving benefits, you may qualify for Universal Credit.

To see which benefits you could be eligible for, head to Turn2U’s benefits calculator.

Shop around.

There are multiple websites to help you do this, quickly and efficiently!

Websites like this one track and compare prices at thousands of shops, which can mean finding the cheapest deal in only a couple of clicks…

If you’re struggling with other bills, such as energy or water, speak to your supplier to see what help they can provide.

Review of the Month.

We love reading our customer reviews – and showing them off to the world!

This month’s review (as do all reviews) comes from a very valuable customer, who we are proud to help support through their financial wellbeing journey.

Take a look…

In case you didn’t know, every Friday is #FeedbackFriday on our social media, so if you’d like to see more great reviews, head over to our Facebook, Twitter or Instagram!

Meet the Team.

Chris Davis – CEO

For more than a decade, Chris has been the driving force behind MoneyPlus. His vision was, and remains, to provide essential, expert advice and support to those that have financial challenges.

We have come a long way. From quietly disrupting the debt management sector, to making sense to customers with complex legal matters, and most recently entering the energy market from a unique and refreshing angle – all delivered by treating every customer as an individual and with the best possible service.

This mantra resonates with all staff across the group and sets MoneyPlus apart – the customer definitely comes first, and we aim to keep it that way.

Chris says: “I am very proud of everything we have achieved so far, and I am excited about how we can continue to help our customers in many more ways. We’ve grown tremendously over the years, and now we are branching out into new sectors such as Energy and Telecoms, we’re able to provide even more value to our thousands of valuable customers.

Here at MoneyPlus we like to do things differently and think differently, I don’t believe there is another firm in any of the sectors we are in that deliver the service we do. In part that’s because at the heart of everything we do we try to help our customers live better and save them money – it’s as simple as that!”

Each month, we give away FIVE Bloom & Wild bouquets to a ‘bunch’ of lucky followers – our June draw will be open soon, so keep an eye on our Facebook page to find out how to enter!

PLUS, in April and May, we gave away FREE ENERGY for a YEAR to two NHS workers, to say thank you for all their hard work during the pandemic, and we’ll be extending this draw for each month until the end of the year!

One of our winners, NHS Nurse Laura Butcher, had this to say:

“I am extremely grateful to receive this generous offer, and feel humbled that MoneyPlus are supporting NHS staff through this difficult time. MoneyPlus have made the switch over completely hassle free and I would highly recommend their services to family and friends in the future. In the short term, their offer has given us some financial assurance, and I have decided to use the money saved towards a much needed family holiday once we are in better times. Thank you again, and stay safe!”
